Carmen Gill has been at UNB since 2004 and is coming to the Department of Sociology as professor after spending the last 10 years as Director of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research at UNB. As leader of the Canadian observatory on the justice system response to intimate partner violence, her research focuses on police intervention in intimate partner violence, domestic homicide, treatment of perpetrators and victims through the criminal justice system.
