Hornick, Executive Director of the Canadian Research Institute for Law and the Family (CRILF), has conducted numerous studies related to law and the family. His research experience covers a broad range of topics dealing with children, youth and families, and policing. He has authored and co-authored over a hundred professional publications. Some of his most recent publications include: co-author of A Profile of Youth Crime in Calgary (2007); co-author of High Conflict Intervention Programs in Alberta: A Review and Recommendations (2007); co-author of National Police Leadership Survey on Crime Prevention Through Social Development (2005); and co-author of Youth Gangs in Canada: A Preliminary Review of Programs and Services (2005). He also conducted a four year evaluation of a specialized domestic violence treatment court in the Yukon and co-authored The Domestic Violence Treatment Option (DVTO), Whitehorse, Yukon: Final Evaluation Report (2005).
